The Subdued Stringband Jamboree is a volunteer run festival and we need your help!

Each year 50+ volunteers work to make the Jamboree happen. In exchange, volunteers get entry into the festival and a dose of civic pride!
Volunteers during the festival are required to work 2-3hrs per day to receive a pass.
Many volunteer shifts happen before and after the festival. Below is a brief description of some of the volunteer jobs.

During the festival:
|
Gate: the front gate is where we collect money from cars coming into the festival
Camping Gate: where money is collected for overnight camping
Info Booth: sells bands CD’s, t-shirts, shares helpful information
Security: walks the festival ground maintaining a peaceful atmosphere at the festival, is in touch with first aid crew, should the need arise
Shuttle Crew: drive a shuttle van between Boundary Bay and the festival site

Before, During, and After:
|

Stage Crew: sets up and tears down the stages, runs sound and lights of the stages
Grounds Crew: sets up the grounds, cleans up the grounds, including fire pits, picking circles, decorations, helps with parking and camping traffic, sets up trash/recycling cans and maintains them.
We need truck and driver for clean up!

| The Publicity Team: The Jamboree is in need of many people who love the festival and want to spread the word. This can take the form of hanging posters, handing out flyers, spreading the word on list serves and blogs, going to other regional festivals and hanging posters, handing out flyer, and many other things |

Human Resources Long Term:
The Jamboree needs crew leaders in these areas:
- A publicist who takes on the job of dealing with print media and coordinating other promotions.
- A van owner who coordinates shuttle service and drivers
- Security: looking for someone with experiene doing security at festivals

Every year we accept in-kind donations from local businesses. What where looking for:
- Food /drink for band hospitality
- Gift certificates, t-shirts, mugs, ect. For raffle
- Other_____________
As well, we appeal to the community for things they may be able to donate.
Things we need……
- A barn or garage where we can store plywood, popup tents, signs, and various other supplies from year to year. Safe and dry are requirements. The closer to the Deming Log Show Fairgrounds the better.
- Pop up tents- either to be gifted to the Jamboree or loaned each year
- We’d love it if you could drop ‘em off on Friday and take ‘em home on Sunday!
